On Wednesday, June 3, City Council approved renaming of the pavilion at Lakeside Park. Based of overwhelming support during the engagement process the Neil Peart Pavilion at Lakeside Park was approved as the name of the building.
Thank you to all who submitted their suggestions of names for the Lakeside Park Pavilion and to all those who voted. Voting is now closed.
The City of St Catharines is renaming the pavilion at Lakeside Park in Port Dalhousie. On Jan. 27 City Council approved a request to name the pavilion to reflect the area's history or notable individuals. One name that has been suggested is that of famed Rush drummer, and member of the Order of Canada, Neil Peart, who immortalized the park in the song, "Lakeside Park."

The City is calling on residents to help name the pavilion at Lakeside Park., and would like your suggestions.
Naming suggestions can be submitted using our online form.
New names for the park will be accepted until Friday, March 9.
Once all suggestions have been received, staff will review the names and present a short list of finalists to the public. Preference will be given to names that reflect the area's history, heritage, notable individuals and environment.
Voting on the finalists will open on April 17, and a name will be presented to City Council in summer 2020.
