Consultation has concluded

The City of St. Catharines is requesting feedback from residents, in the form of a vote, regarding the installation of permanent concrete speed humps on Woodelm Drive. Temporary rubber speed humps were installed to allow residents an opportunity to experience the impacts of this type of traffic calming. Staff are now prepared to make the traffic calming permanent with the installation of concrete speed humps.

Prior to approving permanent speed humps, in accordance with the City’s Traffic Calming Policy, a supporting vote from more than 50 per cent of the total households surveyed is required. For Woodelm Drive, this means that 31 or more households must vote in favour of the speed humps to be made permanent. If more than 50 per cent of households vote that they are not in favour or do not cast a vote, traffic calming will be discontinued.

Please note that the proposal is to install the permanent speed humps in approximately the same location as the temporary speed humps (see map below).

No modifications to the layout or changes to the number of speed humps are being considered.

Complete the survey below prior to 4:30 p.m. on Dec. 15, 2023.
