Consultation has concluded

The City of St. Catharines is requesting feedback from residents, in the form of a vote, regarding the potential to install permanent concrete speed cushions on Courtleigh Road. Last year, temporary rubber speed cushions were installed to allow residents an opportunity to experience the impacts of this type of traffic calming. Staff are now prepared to make the traffic calming permanent with the installation of concrete speed cushions.

Prior to making the speed cushions permanent, in accordance with the City’s Traffic Calming Policy, a supporting vote from more than 50 per cent of the total households surveyed is required. For Courtleigh Road, this means that 19 or more households must vote in favour for the speed cushions to be made permanent.

Please note that the proposal is to install the permanent speed cushions in approximately the same location as the temporary speed cushions (see below). No modifications to the layout or changes to the number of speed cushions is being considered.

If more than 50 per cent of the households either vote that they are not in favour or do not cast a vote, traffic calming will be discontinued.

Please give your response in the quick poll below. Feedback closes on May 13 at 4:30 p.m.
