How would you like a chance to win a brand-new iPad? All you have to do is share your thoughts about and experiences with the St. Catharines Museum and Welland Canals Centre by filling out the survey below. By completing the survey, you will help shape the direction of the museum, its exhibits and its role in the community.

Survey information and background on future planning

Representatives from the museum are looking to renew their strategic plan and develop a roadmap for the future of this community landmark for the next five years.

To support the strategic plan, an interpretive plan was developed in 2019 to guide the future of the museum’s exhibition galleries and public spaces.

Further, the museum has developed both vision and mission statements.

Vision:

The St. Catharines Museum will be a leading local history museum and community gathering place, engaging our visitors and building relationships with partners. We will encourage sustainability, demonstrate curatorial leadership and deliver innovative programming and exhibits.

Mission:

The St. Catharines Museum is dedicated to engaging our visitors, telling the story of the city through artifacts, and preserving, sharing and celebrating the cultural identity and history of the city; we are a community resource that interprets, exhibits, researches, acquires, and preserves material culture and stories of St. Catharines.

The St. Catharines Museum & Welland Canals Centre is in the process of updating its strategic plan.   A key part of this update is to hear from you, the public (whether or not you have ever been to the Museum).   We want to know from you what, if anything, we should be doing differently in future.

The following short survey should only take you about 10 – 15 minutes to complete.  As a ‘thank you’ for your time, we are pleased to enter your name into a draw (should you wish) for a new iPad. The name of the winner will be randomly chosen at the conclusion of the survey and all contact information collected destroyed afterwards.  (Note that employees of the City of St. Catharines will not be eligible for the draw.)

We are working with TCI Management Consultants in the development of this strategic plan update.   Should you have any questions or would like to provide more in-depth comments related to the St. Catharines Museum’s Strategic Plan, please contact the study director, Jon Linton, at the following address:
