Consultation has concluded

The City of St. Catharines is requesting feedback from residents, in the form of a vote, regarding the potential to install a permanent concrete speed cushion on Welland Vale Road. Last year, a temporary rubber speed cushion was installed to allow residents an opportunity to experience the impacts of this type of traffic calming. Staff are now prepared to make the traffic calming permanent with the installation of a concrete speed cushion.

Prior to making the speed cushion permanent, in accordance with the City’s Traffic Calming Policy, a supporting vote from more than 50 per cent of the total households surveyed is required. For Welland Vale Road, this means that five or more households must vote in favour for the speed cushion to be made permanent. If more than 50 per cent of the households either vote that they are not in favour or do not cast a vote, traffic calming will be discontinued.

Please note that the proposal is to install the permanent speed cushion in the same location as the temporary speed cushion (in the vicinity of 105 Welland Vale Road). No modifications to the layout or changes to the number of speed cushions is being considered.

Please complete the survey below prior to May 13, 2022.

Only one vote will be counted per household
