Consultation has concluded

Earth Hour is on Saturday, March 30 from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. We are powering down all non-essential lighting and electronics at City Hall and Market Square to raise awareness about climate change and encourage others to take action.

Residents are encouraged to switch off lights, power down electronics and unplug chargers from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. March 30. Tell us how you will be participating in Earth Hour for a chance to win one of three Earth Hour prize packs:

  • reusable bag
  • water bottle
  • reusable straw
  • dog bag dispenser

Three winners will be randomly chosen from all submissions.

Earth Hour doesn't have to only be a once-a-year thing. There are many things you can do everyday to take action against climate change. Making small changes, such as switching off lights when we leave a room, unplugging devices when not being used, using cold water for laundry, and turning down the thermostat a degree or two, can make a big impact for our planet.
